Here it is, my first post! I guess I am a blogger now.
I think that I will begin by introducing to you the animals in my life that inspire and encourage me everyday.
First off, is my 4 year old border collie/greyhound mix Daisy May.
I adopted Daisy from one of the local animal shelters when she was just 10 weeks old. I truly believe that fate brought Daisy and I together. Because of her my life has changed in so many ways (all for the better). I could not imagine where I would be without her, but more on that later. :)
Honey (a.k.a. Honey Bunny) became a part of my life when I met my husband. Honey is a 9 year old Pit/Husky mix.
My husband adopted Honey from an animal shelter when she was about a year old. The story goes that she was found in a drain storm where she had given birth to a litter of puppies. When my husband met her all of her puppies had already been adopted. I think that Honey Bunny loved being a mama and she will frequently groom our other dogs and she loves puppies.
The third member of our little pack is a 9 year old, goofball Boxer named CJ.
CJ also came from an animal shelter and was adopted by my husband just a few months before he and I met. CJ was overweight and had severe allergies. But a proper diet and exercise was all he needed and today he is a gorgeous, healthy and lovable dog.
The only feline member of the pack is my 15 year old cat, Alexi.
Alexi, affectionately known as The Old Man, rules the roost. He reminds the dogs of his Top Dog status with frequent swats on the nose. The dogs seem to respect The Old Man's position and never challenge him.
And, last by not least, the Pack Leaders (ha!), my husband and me.
Justin and I met at a dog park (who saw that one coming?) when Honey ran up to Daisy suddenly, knocking her to the ground. When I turned to see who owned this out of control pit bull, Justin ran up to me apologizing for his dog. I looked back at the dogs, who were wrestling and running around together like old friends. Needless to say, it was love at first sight.
So, this is me and my little pack. I love to photograph them and I look forward to capturing the personalities of your pack members in photos as well!
